Cooking is part of the universal language of love. In the heat of your kitchen, you do magic by transforming food into tasty recipes, which is the most fundamental alchemy. An “I love you” covered in chocolate, or marinated in wine can only be compared to the promise of an “I want to kiss you all over.”
In this romantic month, you can declare your love in the intimacy of your kitchen with a recipe we chose from the book Salty and Sweet [Sal y Dulce] by the Rausch brothers (Ediciones Gamma). This easy-baked salmon recipe will help you be the perfect host, especially if you have one of the Gaggenau 400 series ovens as an accomplice.
What you’ll need
These are the ingredients:
- 6 salmon fillets (200 grams each)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 additional tablespoons olive oil
- 5 ripe tomatoes
- 2 red bell peppers
- 2 thyme sprigs
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 crustless slices of bread
- 3 tablespoons chopped hazelnuts
- 2 tablespoons of peeled almonds
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon roasted garlic puree
- 1 tablespoon sherry vinegar
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- sugar to taste
The preparation
Preparing this delicious recipe is quite simple. First, preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). If you have a Gaggenau 400 series oven, this step will be easy, as they are appliances worthy of professional kitchens, but manufactured especially for domestic use.
Next, chop the tomatoes and peppers, remove the seeds, and place them in a baking dish. Take the olive oil, thyme, garlic, salt, and sugar and season to taste. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
With the automatic program system of this oven, you don’t have to worry about the cooking time, because you just choose the setting, and once this time has elapsed, you’ll just have to remove the baking dish and let it rest.
After the salmon has cooled off, discard the thyme, and blend all the vegetables, the bread, and half of the walnuts to achieve a homogeneous consistency. Heat this sauce in a pot and add the paprika, the roasted garlic puree, and the rest of the finely chopped walnuts. Cook for a few minutes. Finally, season with vinegar, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
To prepare the salmon, first cook it in a pan on both sides over low heat with olive oil, until the skin is crispy. Preheat the oven again to 180° and cook the salmon with the sauce you prepared for approximately 5 minutes and it’s ready to serve.
Another option
If you don’t like cooking, but are into tasting dishes, buying a Gaggenau oven as a gift is also a very good option. Whether you have a chef or a cooking enthusiast at home, the 400 Series ovens will make anyone fall in love. You can choose from an incredible range of combination steam or microwave ovens, which can be the perfect ally in the kitchen.
The design of this series is elegant and functional. Its handle-less door, which has 4 layers of glass to insulate the internal heat, opens automatically by simply pressing its TFT touch screen, whose commands are configured in 44 languages. It also includes a universal heating system with 13 levels, an internal temperature probe with cooking time estimation, and a baking stone.
In addition, it has a catalyst that filters grease and odors. These ovens are easy to maintain with the pyrolytic cleaning program that reaches 480°C, so you could say that they practically clean themselves. And if you prepared the salmon recipe we just gave you, you can store it in the memory of the appliance, which has a capacity for 50 different recipes. This is a very practical way to show love, don’t you think?
