With more than 4,000 square feet, the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando was the location chosen for the event from January 9th to 11th that showcased the most important design brands of industrial and domestic kitchen and bathroom appliances.

The Kitchen Bath Industry Show (KBIS), along with the National Kitchen and Bath Association, gathered the big players in the industry as an interactive window to the public for their most recent creations. This event brings together more than 600 leading brands worldwide, which present to the public not only their new products and most recent innovations but also the new trends in terms of the use of materials and colors for 2018.

This year, 9 LCI brands (Smeg, Thermador, Franke, Bosch, Liebherr, BEST, Faber, The Galley, and Gaggenau) presented products that can turn any work area in the kitchen into experiences characterized by comfort, modernism, safety, and luxury. So, these brands are part of the trends to be seen in upcoming months.

General trends for 2018. After Pantone announced that the color of the year is Ultra Violet, everything moved towards including a color palette that could provide kitchens with a hint of drama that could also inspire luxury, personality, and elegance.

However, these colors not only apply to the walls in that space but also to the backsplash and floor tiles that should portray the bold factor and match perfectly the customized requirements of designers. The interaction between large and small appliances is also part of the trends for 2018. And the reign of the stainless-steel will make room for appliances with finishes in rose gold, brass, and copper.

Bosch with new partners. Once again, the Home Connect technology by Bosch was the talk of KBIS. The German brand seized this opportunity to announce that their ecosystem for connections is enhanced due to their partnership with platforms such as Amazon Alexa, Nest, IFTTT, EVE Connect, and Innit among others.

That way, Home Connect is consolidated as the leading network in the industry of appliances, since the brands of appliances associated to its new partners can use the power of its ecosystem to offer customized experiences that exceed customers’ expectations.

Vario cooling 400, the latest from Gaggenau. The German Brand never ceases to amaze. During KBIS 2018 the Brand presented its new series Vario cooling 400, which is a modular range of fully integrated refrigerators, freezers, refrigerator-freezers, and wine cabinets that can be easily fit into any modern kitchen concept.

The design of the appliances is inspired in large architectural structures, and the whole series is conceived as a range of leading appliances with functional art that adapt to the lifestyle of the most demanding and educated consumers.

Thermador and the tribe. This year Thermador gave it all at KBIS. Besides being the main sponsor of the live event at KBtribechat (a space that uses Twitter’s platform on Wednesdays to talk about trends and product launchings with a broad community of kitchen and bathroom designers, interior designers, architects, bloggers, manufacturers, brands, and industry experts), the brand presented 300 new products (refrigerators, kitchen countertops, dishwashers, and ovens).

Thus, with a full stand, the brand presented two different collections of products equipped with innovative characteristics and a clean and daring design. Being totally redesigned, both the Masterpiece collection and the Professional collection have appliances that aim at offering the consumer the perfect culinary experience. So, there is plenty of Thermador to be seen in 2018.
